Weekend after weekend in Buckhead, we would meet up at Genki, eat some sushi and hit the town. But since last May, we couldn't do that because the restaurant closed down for major renovations. But now Genki is back and better than ever. Completely redone, this place hits the spot for sushi and for fun. Boasting fabulous décor, tasty Asian fare and amazing drinks, Genki is on its way to reclaiming the market for pre-going out festivities as well as taking over Landmark Diner's monopoly on food at 2 a.m. and after. "We are going to start serving select dishes after hours," says manager Michael Michael. Well that sounds pretty good to us. So next time you stop by Genki, which better be soon, order the Yokahama Lobster (Maine lobster tail tempura fried, topped with a creamy tomato ginger sauce) and the Super Crunchee Roll (Salmon, avocado, spicy mayo and sweet soy).
