Virginia Highland offers up an alternative to the dinner date during the dark and drafty days of winter. Murphy's, better known for its romantic dinner ambience, provides Atlantan's with one of the best breakfast/brunch/lunch options in town. Serving from 8 am - 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays only, you can have your pick of rise and shine favorites including pancakes, omelets, French toast and grits.
The wait for a free table is rarely longer than 30 minutes, but if you are the impatient type make sure you arrive at the restaurant before 10:00 am or after 2:30 pm. Another secret, is that it is easy to walk up on two seats at the bar. If you are so lucky you should grab your boos hand and sit your butts in the barstools quick before someone beats you to them. The complimentary valet will save you from a walk, but the waiting area is small, so you may have to bare the cold for a short period while you wait.
If breakfast doesn't get your boyfriend's or girlfriend's taste buds watering, flip the menu pages to see the heartier options on the menu. The crab cake sandwich will melt in your mouth and if you want a southern sensation, take a bite out of the molasses roast turkey. For a little brunch buzz the Mimosas and Bloody Mary's that Murphy's serves up are sure to please. The service is splendid and you'll never wait long for drinks or food. This is also a good venue to have some intimate convo with your cutie. The tables are cozy and provide privacy while you dine.
Murphy's breakfast, brunch and lunch service on Saturday and Sunday offers up an alternative that will give you and that special someone a new place and a new time to make it a date. Change it up next week and enjoy a plate packed with food as good as sunshine on a cloudy winter day.
